Polish Horse Breeders Association oversees Polish Championships for Young Horses (MPMK) in five equestrian disciplines: show jumping, dressage, eventing, driving and endurance. The history of Polish Championships for Young Horses starts in early 90’s.
The aim of MPMK as a kind of performance test is to:
- evaluate young horses and their ancestors
- reward and honour breeders and owners of the best horses
- encourage breeders and owners to entrust their best horses to the best trainers and competitors
Horses allowed to compete in MPMK are 4-, 5-, 6- and 7-year-old horses bred in Poland:
- Malopolska, Wielkopolska, Polish Halfbred and Silesian horses registered by Polish Horse Breeders Association
- Thoroughbred and Arab horses registered by Polish Horse Breeders Association
- Trakehners registered by Polish Trakehner Association
- foreign-bred horses with Polish owners recorded in their equine passport. Foreign-bred horses must be reported to and identified by PZHK
